SPHEREx Mission Launched
NASA’s SPHEREx space telescope has embarked on a groundbreaking mission, successfully entering low Earth orbit in March 2025. Designed to expand our understanding of the cosmos, SPHEREx is set to perform four comprehensive sky surveys over the next two years. What sets this mission apart is its ability to map the stars using 102 infrared bands, a significant leap from the four bands used by the previous WISE mission.

SPHEREx’s findings will also complement observations from the Euclid and Nancy Grace Roman telescopes, set to launch in May 2027.
